Our Day Today!Today was our first official Mind Missions MISSION! Our task was to work together as a team to create a Billboard to influence other bunnies to come live in Bunny Town! The groups worked together to advertise for a brand new bunny community. Before we began working on the Mission, the teams took some time to reflect on their teamwork skills. They created crayon boxes about the "Ways We Work Together" as a team and each gave input for how they can be a good teammate. Before the actual construction of the Billboards, the groups worked to plan and brainstorm how to construct the actual billboard, create a name for their new bunny community, and come up with advertisements to convince other bunnies to choose their community. The following day, it was time to construct the boards! Enjoy watching pictures of the construction process and the video of the teams working together! Our Final ProductsOur Day Yesterday! We are still working together to understand the importance of Collaboration and how to be a good teammate! We are studying a picture book called, The Crayon Box That Talked and discussing the ways that the crayons realized how they needed to work together. After reading this story, we jumped right into a team building exercise with our new TEAMS! We will be starting our next unit and it is ALL about teamwork. We worked in our groups to come up with different ways to work well as a team and shared with the class. Once we finished with our conversation of how to work well as a team, we put our ideas to the test! We did our first "Mind Mission" and worked as a team to name the team and create a team flag! The Teams!Welcome Back! Come pick a new seat! Our Day Today! To get back into the groove of the New Year, we talked about how to make a New Year's Resolution! We watched a fun video with The Kid President and learned some different types of ways that we can make someone else's life better this year. We also brainstormed together to come up with other ways to make the year better for others, how to better ourselves, and how to do better in school! We are also working on developing some skills in geometry and shapes to use in our next IB Unit, Who We Are. Our next Unit is called Who We Are. We will be learning the essentials of how to work together to accomplish important tasks. We will also be learning the roles, rights and responsibilities of citizens in a community and the ways in which a community is developed. Today, we worked with our new table groups to make a unanimous consensus of what we were looking at in a "photographic puzzle." We had to all agree on what the image was a picture of, before being able to write down an answer. We watched this video to get a good perspective of why it is important for a group to work together: |
