The Slide Presentations are going to be outstanding! MathWe are learning about time this week. We are practicing how to read an analog clock to the hour and to the half hour. We watched a really fun Brain Pop Jr. video today to learn a few tricks. Then, we had a great time exploring new Math Stations and playing time games with friends. Where We Are In Place and TimeWe are going to be finishing up this unit very soon! We loved having all of you wonderful parents come in and share your personal histories! These personal history presentations helped us to learn about how to write about our own personal histories! Over Spring Break, we filled in a packet about our own lives and we will be putting this information into a Google Slides Presentation! JUMP ROPE FOR HEART!We had a great assembly to kick off Jump Rope for Heart today! Where We Are In Place and TimeWe wrapped up our week of Historical Figures by comparing ourselves to one of the great people we learned about! We used a double bubble map to do this comparison. Personal HistoriesWe have had some wonderful parents come in to share about their personal histories! It is so neat to hear about all of these amazing pasts in our different families! We are starting to talk about our own unique families this week. The end of this unit will be all about our own personal histories. Today we talked about the different things that make our personal families unique. We will be doing a book study of the book, The Keeping Quilt by Patricia Polacco. We even got to look at a real quilt today! AdjectivesIn order to be able to describe our families in the best way that we can, we are reviewing adjectives. Today we watched a great video and then played a neat "Adjectives About Me" game with a partner! Each partner had to draw and describe the other. Where We Are In Place and TimeYesterday and today we learned about two amazing inventors! We have added Thomas Edison and Alexander Graham Bell to our Historical Figure Chart and our Historical Figure Timeline! These two incredible inventors are responsible for giving us things like the light bulb and the telephone! Alexander Graham BellWe really enjoyed completing a mission to create our own "ring tones" for a telephone with the materials today! They all did a fantastic job. While we were working, we discovered that TODAY is Alexander Graham Bell's birthday!! If I were a historical figure...We are still working on our historical figure writing pieces! Today we practiced editing and revising our own rough drafts with a partner! We learned how to correct punctuation errors and how to spell different words correctly! These writing pieces are going to be amazing. Family History PresentationsThe next part of our unit has to do with our own personal histories. Parents are coming into the classrooms to share about their family history. The kids are listening to what is important, thinking about things they like, and asking great questions! We are also practicing how to make connections with other people. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, |
