Our Day Today!
Today we introduced "Stop Light Writing." This form of writing helps the learners organize their writing into a beginning, middle and an end. This helps to make it more clear how writing should be put together, to eventually guide the learners into automatically writing opening and closing sentences.
We have taken everything we have learned about counting with ones and tens and really put it into play with Problem Solving and Word Problems. Today we practiced showing numbers in more than one way.
We explored animal habitats more today by travelling around the classroom with different animals and then placing them in their correct habitat by gluing it down on the circle map. One all the animals were placed, we stuck with out groups and discussed whether all of the animals in the habitat belonged. After trading a few around, we really got deeper into conversations about what the habitat was like, what kinds of animals lived in that habitat, and why it was so important for their survival. To wrap it all up, we got to do our first group presentations in the classroom!!
