We had such a fun day today! We made our summer bucket lists, watched a fun movie, and celebrated together for our End of Year Party! Today we talked about our summer vacations by making bucket lists of fun things to do this summer! We also has a fun movie day watching Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer! This movie went along so well with our bucket list activity! We celebrated our year coming to a close by having pizza and popsicles, and autographing beach balls together!

Our Week!We have had a fun and busy week so far! We had a great IB Portfolio Showcase, we emptied our Rice Bowls, and we celebrated a birthday! Portfolio Showcase DayRice BowlsWe stomped on our Rice Bowls to crack them open and get our money we worked hard to save out. We sorted the coins and then we counted our money to see what we have raised! Happy Birthday Julia!FIELD DAY 2018!We had a wonderful time at Field Day last week!!! This slideshow really shows exactly how much fun we had! There were so many great activities to do and this class had a blast doing it all. We really had a fantastic time! First Grade Farmer’s MarketWe had a successful Farmer’s Market! We sold all kinds of great things and almost sold out of everything! They all worked really hard and were so proud of themselves! What We Are Up To!First Grade Farmer’s MarketWe are just about ready for the Farmer’s Market tomorrow! We have been working hard all week to prepare. Here’s a look at what we have been doing for it. Harvesting the GardenOn Monday we pulled our vegetables out of the garden. We had a great crop of potatoes this year!! Advertising Around SchoolWe took our posters around the school and hung them up to advertise for the Farmer’s Market! Making Signs for the TablesWe made signs that show the prices of the baskets that we will place our goods in and we made signs to show our customers what we are selling. Preparing the PotsOur flower pots have some changes this year! We used a very special glaze on them to make them even more beautiful than before! We also decided that instead of planting flowers, we are putting a packet of seeds inside the pot, so that whoever purchases the pot can enjoy planting something new! We will work together to prepare the pots for tomorrow before the Farmer's Market opens! Farming Around the WorldBecause we recently experienced what it was like to harvest our own crops, we spent time this afternoon learning about different types of farming around the world. We watched 5 different videos on the iPads through a Thinglink! Each video gave us new information and showed the global differences in farming. Click the picture to see the videos! First Grade Math ReviewWe are still reviewing what we have learned in first grade. We are exploring all of the different math games we have played over the school year. This week, we started a math menu with a partner about telling time, shapes, fractions, and ordering numbers. TADPOLE RELEASE!!This past weekend, Mrs. Irland was kind enough to take all of our first grade tadpoles to the creek in her neighborhood and release them into the wild! She made a really fun video of the tadpoles all swimming away! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAANVISHI!!First Grade Farmer’s MarketOur Farmer’s Market is coming up next week! We are already making preparations for it. See our flyer below! We also worked together to make posters to display around the school. We will each be working a job at the Farmer’s Market. We filled out a resume, then a job application for the jobs we would like to have. The different job options are Greeter, Rice Bowl Representative, Expert, Cashier, and Seller. Today we put a presentation together to read for our job interviews. AND THE JOBS ARE...MATH: First Grade |
