We are finishing our "Who We Are" unit next week. Today we worked on putting our IB Portfolios together. We chose some special work and put it into our binders and then we reflected on the unit. We are studying this book today and tomorrow! We read the sweet story and then made some guesses about what might be in the big present at the end! After the book, we practiced our comprehension skills by sequencing the events of the story with a partner. We are starting a fun Christmas Unit about the different traditions around the world! We will use our passports and boarding passes to "travel" around the world to see how Christmas is celebrated in different countries. We will be visiting different countries and filling in a scrapbook every day. Today we explored Christmas in the United States! We looked at different Christmas traditions such as having a tree, stockings, presents, and best of all, Santa Clause!! We listened to traditional US Christmas music while watching a toasty fire in a fire place! We had a great time coloring some fun Christmas images, making snowflakes to hang in the classroom, and making magic reindeer food to sprinkle on our lawn on Christmas Eve!
