We have officially kicked off our next unit: How the World Works! We are going to be exploring matter, properties of matter, interactions of matter, how things move, and how the earth is changed naturally and by humans! This is a really neat, science-heavy unit, that is going to be such a blast! Today we learned a little bit about what matter is. It's everything around us! We watched a fun BrainPop Jr video about solids liquids and gasses. We also learned a fun song to help us remember the different states of matter! We also played a fun sorting game. Click the button below to play at home! Did you know a Scentsy can show the amazing changes in the state of matter?? We saw this change happen today! We all felt the hard, cool wax. Then we waiting while the lightbulb melted our solid into a liquid. We even explored the warm liquid and watched it change back into a solid on our own finger! We also explored the nice scent being emitted from the gas as the solid melted. When one unit begins, that means another has come to a close. We added our favorite activities from Where We Are In Place and Time to our IB Portfolios today. Practicing OurWe are practicing our subtraction strategies with some hands on activities and games! We worked with partners, or on our own.
