We have spent our week exploring the different states of matter: solids, liquids, and gasses! We talked about each state, named some things that are in the states of matter, and learned properties for each one. We spent a day for each state, exploring and observing, while documenting the findings of our investigations in a "Solids, Liquids, and Gases" Notebook! We explored baggies of different solids and we sorted them into different groups. Then we described them by their properties. The properties of solids can be size, shape, color, or texture. We loved exploring different liquids! Liquids have many different properties. We looked at 7 different liquids and observed their different properties and recorded them into our notebooks. We took our learning outside to explore different gases today! We observed four different experiences to see examples of a gas. We watched how gas is used in aerosol spray cans to spread liquids more, trapping gas in balloons with our lungs, trapping gas in bubbles and watching them float, and even creating a Diet Coke volcano!!
