Our Week!!We had a wonderful and busy week in 1C this week! We really did some great activities together and we are wrapping up our Who We Are Unit! Bunny Town StoriesWe spent the week writing stories about our Bunny Town experiences! We created characters, gave the stories a setting, and solved a problem! They used the whole writing process with story maps, flow maps, drafts, and a final copy! Just a DreamWe did a great lesson this week with this book. We started out by looking at different images from the story. Each image shows a problem with the Earth, so we talked about those problems and then talked about how that problem could be prevented in the future. We led this story into a final Bunny Town lesson about recycling! The bunnies have lived together for so long now, that they need to start picking up all the trash they have accumulated! The mission was to create something by reusing all the Bunny Town materials from past missions and create something new and useful for the bunnies to use. Fun with FractionsWe have been learning about fractions! Today we decided to apply what we have learned with PIZZA FRACTIONS! We had a great time discussing parts of a whole while slicing AND eating pizza! Approaches to Learning StationsMy teaching goal for the year is to implement some stations into the classroom that directly align with IB. These are called the Approaches to Learning Stations. Each station allows the learners to practice different transdisciplinary skills. They work on:
