Where We AreThis week we will be learning about important people from the past that have definitely influenced our ways of life. We took a gallery walk to look at different artifacts that represent the different people we will learn about. The people we will cover are Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Sam Houston, Abraham Lincoln, Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, and Martin Luther King Jr. We will be keeping track of these historical figures by using a chart and timeline to see what important things they did and how they might be connected to one another. Today we learned about Benjamin Franklin. We did a couple really fun activities to get to know this important person from history. We spent some time without electricity to see what life would be like if he had never discovered it. We also did a "walk the room" scavenger hunt to learn about important facts of Benjamin Franklin's life. If we were historical figures,We are starting a wrong piece this week about what we would want to be known for if we were historical figures. Our Superstar of the Week this week is Audrey! Audrey is a super star because she has a water bottle. She is happiest when she gets on pink and is proud of herself because she is almost always on pink in the classroom. Audrey wants to be a basketball player when she grows up. Her favorite school subject is recess and her favorite book is Harry Potter! THANK YOU AUDREY!
