To get back into the groove of the New Year, we talked about how to make a New Year's Resolution! We watched a fun video with The Kid President and learned some different types of ways that we can make someone else's life better this year. We also brainstormed together to come up with other ways to make the year better for others, how to better ourselves, and how to do better in school! We are also working on developing some skills in geometry and shapes to use in our next IB Unit, Who We Are. Our next Unit is called Who We Are. We will be learning the essentials of how to work together to accomplish important tasks. We will also be learning the roles, rights and responsibilities of citizens in a community and the ways in which a community is developed. Today, we worked with our new table groups to make a unanimous consensus of what we were looking at in a "photographic puzzle." We had to all agree on what the image was a picture of, before being able to write down an answer. We watched this video to get a good perspective of why it is important for a group to work together:
