We are discovering the world and how it changes this week by exploring magnetism and land forms. Yesterday and today has been all about magnets! We have practiced reading Non-Fiction books and talking about the different features of non-fiction text, in order to successfully take notes on magnets. We worked together to fill in a KWL chart with different things that we already know about magnets, what we want to know, and then explored a non-fiction magnet book to fill in things we learned. We went on a Non-Fiction Scavenger hunt to explore the different parts of non-fiction books ourselves. After practicing with non-fiction, we used our note taking skills to create a fun Magnet Facts Booklet. Meet Mr. Manny Magnet! With all of this learning and studying magnets, we have also had some fun exploring magnets! We have used magnets to test the magnetism of certain objects, as well as explore the classroom to figure out what our magnets were attracted to and what they repelled! We have also explored the magnetic force of magnets to see how the poles can either attract its opposite or repel its same end. We tested magnetic force as well to see how thick something could be before the magnet would not attract a metal paper clip, with some fun mazes! Diana is a Superstar because she is nice. She is happiest when she plays with Mom and Dad and is proud of herself because she loves her family. When she grows up, Diana wants to be a Dentist. Her favorite school subject is recess and she loves reading Magic Tree House books!
