Our word of the week this week is Enthusiasm! We will be learning this word for the week and practicing how to show enthusiasm. Enthusiasm means that you show your excitement for learning. We made our lexicon and then read a book to make connections with. We read Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse and talked about how Lilly showed enthusiasm for school and her new toys. Today we practiced writing super sentences! A super sentence should start with a capital letter, end with punctuation, have lower case letters in the right places, spaces between words, and be a complete thought. We looked at a power point presentation to check some sentences. Now that we are learning to be super sentence writers, we will practice these skills in our journals every morning! We love starting our math lessons with a challenging word problem! We did a great job of solving this one with pictures! Today in math we interviewed each other about some fun questions and graphed them using a bar graph! We are working on making our handwriting look fantastic with these great activities! Today we practiced our starting corner capitals! Our Super Star of the Week this week is Mia! Mia is a super star because she is a great big sister and she is so proud of herself for it. She is happiest when she is playing at the park with her brother and sister. She is amazing at playing soccer. When she grows up, Mia wants to be an artist. Her favorite school subject is recess and she loves to read Magic Tree House! THANK YOU, MIA!!
