Our Day Today!
This week we are talking about being caring. We are caring by showing that we care about animals, plants, and the Earth. We care by helping others and taking care of the environment. We had a great lesson on how to be caring by watching a short clip from the movie, The Lorax and then completing our own activity after.
We are starting a new Module that will teach us all how to Skip Count to 120! After this unit ,we will all know how to count by ones (forward and backwards), count by 2's, count by 5's, and count by 10's! We had a great time practicing with a fun video on Youtube called, "Whatcha Gonna Do? Skip Counting Rap."
It is time to take all of our research and put it into a presentation! We have the choice to create a presentation using either a poster, a book, or an app called 30 Hands on the iPads. We will be working hard on these presentations the rest of this week and next week!
We read Chapters 6 and 7 of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane today. We learned how Edward falls from the ship and ends up in the ocean. He sank all the way to the bottom and stayed there for 297 days until a storm came! He is scooped up by a fisherman and taken onto a boat. We made some fun predictions of what we think will happen next and added them to our Edmodo group!
We practiced our Reading Comprehension today by sequencing a fun Halloween book called The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything. We listened to the story and then used a flow map to put the parts of the story in order!
