Our Day Today!
Safety/Red Ribbon Week is coming up, so today we had a fun visit from the Coppell Fire Department. We enjoyed a silly presentation about how we can be safe and react to an emergency!
We will be writing a piece about being Scarecrows this week! Today we brainstormed as a class to come up with different ideas about being scarecrows. We created a circle map to think about what a scarecrow looks like, what it would do, and what it would see!
This week we will be working on our counting skills! We will be practicing counting to and from 120, by ones, twos, fives, and tens. We will be exploring some fun new Math games in our Math By Myself and Math With A Partner stations!
The ball has begun rolling with our presentations! We are working on planning out our presentations and then we will begin piecing them together in a day or two!
We are almost to the half way point of our book, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. So far Edward has been aboard a ship and then fallen off the ship. He spent 297 days on the ocean floor until he was pulled out by a fisherman, named Lawrence. Edward has spent some wonderful time being loved by Lawrence and his wife Nellie, but now their terrible daughter, Lolly has thrown him into a garbage can!!! We spent some time predicting what we think will happen to Edward Tulane next and reflected about what we have read in the story so far.
