This week we have been talking about the interdependence of animals and plants with their environment including water sources, rocks, and soil. We have done some really neat investigations with rocks and soil! We observed and sorted rocks by their different qualities and talked about the different kinds of rocks that can be found on the Earth. We also discussed how animals depend on rocks in the environment. For fun, we read the book, Everybody Needs A Rock and then adopted our own pet rocks!! We had a really fun experience in the science lab to observe different types of soil. We looked at loam, clay, humus, and sand by using magnifying glasses and checking different details of the soil like texture and smell. We were actual note-taking scientists and recorded our findings!
