Here is what we have been up to!
To get ourselves in the Holiday Spirit, we are enjoying a fun writing piece called, Santa's Stuck! We are using the writing process to write what we would do if Santa got stuck in our chimney! We will finish our writing and them add it to a fun craft tomorrow!
We are still exploring the world or graphing! We have learned how to read and create our own picture graphs, bar graphs, and tally graphs. We have practiced these skills by surveying each other in the classroom and playing some math games together!
Our IB Attitude of the week was cooperation this week. We learned how important it is to work together trough some great cooperation activities. We worked together to put floor puzzles together with Ms. Kirkley and then on Tuesday we played a game called Cooperation Cups. In this game we worked with 4 friends to stack 6 cups like a pyramid using only a rubber band that was tied with 4 strings. No one was allowed to touch the cups with anything except the rubber band; no hands! This game took an extreme amount of cooperation to accomplish and these learners did a phenomenal job!
How did it go?
We are about to start a short unit on Christmas Around the World, but before we do that, we need to learn all about maps! We have been talking about the different vocabulary that comes with maps and then been looking at the different parts of a map. We explored Google Earth on the iPads and found our school and our homes! We have been working in a really neat packet to show where we live in the world!

We also closed out our most recent IB Unit this week. We added some photos to our portfolios and did a reflection about all that we learned during this unit.
