Our Day Today!
Today was the first official morning to do all of our morning work, which includes spelling and a journal entry. Today we had a lesson on short vowel sounds and got to watch a fun video on Brain Pop Jr.!
This morning we worked on using tens and ones to make up to 120. We did a journal entry in our Math Journals to see if we could really apply what we have been learning by writing a story about the number 20 and then explaining how ones come together to make two tens. Then we had a great time with our mini lesson of counting the Base 10 Blocks using Hundreds!
What do animals need to survive in their habitats? We explored the answer to this question today by having some fun with the Smartboard! We played games to discover the different basic needs (oxygen, food, water, shelter) and then practiced sorting animals into the proper habitats! Once we finished the games we worked hard to see if we could sort some animals ourselves by making a tree map and choosing 3 habitats to name the animals of.
