We had another great day today! We spent more time discussing water sources and writing about them. We chose our favorite water source to visit and wrote three reasons why it was our favorite. We started this writing piece by making a tree map to organize our thoughts. After making our tree map, we learned a new writing process skill. We learned how to do Stop Light Writing today! This method of writing helps you to organize our writing with a beginning sentence, explanations in the middle, and an ending sentence. We reviewed living and non-living things today with a really fun slideshow. We named whether the pictures were showing a living thing or a non-living thing and then explained how we know. We even had a fun challenge of deciding this with sunflower seeds, an egg, and an apple! We had some GREAT discussion! We started talking about the different types of habitats that animals live in. We looked at the ocean, the jungle, the desert, the arctic, and ponds/lakes. To get our brains thinking, we did an interactive Smartboard activity and put animals in their proper habitats. Every day we begin our math lesson by doing a fun math journal entry. These prompts are made to help us think! Today's was an extra fun question. We had some very creative answers! We use Texas Go Math to do our math lessons with an interactive Smartboard lesson and then hands on practice together. Today we learned how to use Base 10 Blocks to represent numbers as tens and ones, up to 50! We worked really hard and did a great job today!
