Our Day Today!
We had our monthly Disaster Drill today to practice how to take shelter during dangerous weather. The learners did a fantastic job!!
We took the next step of the writing process with our "How To's" and wrote a first draft. We copied the sentences from our flip book and then added a second detailed sentence to it that would better describe the process of snow man building.
We had a great time exploring thermometers and temperature today! The learners discovered the changes that a thermometer undergoes when put into warm water and cold water. We discussed the different types of things that are hot and cold and accurately recorded the data on a thermometer.
For out R-Time this week, we discussed interrupting. It can be frustrating when someone is interrupting a conversation and we wanted to practice how to deal with such things, as well as how to keep ourselves from interrupting others. We listened to the book, Interrupting Chicken. We then answered a few questions on how the Little Red Chicken could have done things differently. We then had a class discussion of how we would do things differently when given different scenarios that may cause us to want to interrupt.
