Our Day Today!
Today we continued with our expository writing over our favorite books to read. We went from Circle Maps to Stop Light Writing. Tomorrow we will be moving our writing process further, into the draft phase. In ELAR we are still working to be detectives to solve the mystery of Club Sandwich. We gathered more clues and made new suspects today, which led to being able to make a prediction about what could have happened to Lola's marbles.
This week we are covering the important symbols of the United States of America. Today we learned about the American Flag, the Pledge of Allegiance, the National Anthem, the Liberty Bell, and the Statue of Liberty. We did our own illustrations of what each one looks like, and then played some fun games together!
We had more fun with measuring today! We used "baby steps" and "basketball player" steps to measure and compare the difference in lengths. We also measured with craft sticks! We are practicing how to take measurements using different units and then recording our data to use for comparisons later.
Superhero of the Week: Blake!!
THANKS BLAKE!!
