This week is the National Computer Science Week. Learners all over the country are partaking in an Hour of Code, where they learn to write programming code for computer games and apps. This is done to encourage the computer science field of study to ready America for a bright future in technology! We learned to code today, using the game Lightbot! You can find a link for this game on my website: here. This game is also available on the iPad for free, which is the version that we played together today! Each learner in 1C was successful in completing the full hour of code today and came home with a certificate! Today in Guidance we had a wonderful lesson about Cooperation! This is our IB Attitude of the Week! The learners were required to work together and collaborate to put together numerous floor puzzles, while cooperating together and being respectful. Alexia is a Super Star because she is smart! She is proud of herself because she can hop on one foot and is happiest when she is playing with her brothers. When Alexia grows up, she wants to be an Art or PE Teacher. Her favorite school subject is recess and her favorite books are Magic Tree House Books! Thank you, Alexia!
