Our Day Today!
This week we are getting into some writing skills by learning how to form a contraction by combining two words into one! We read a really fun book called Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus and pointed out the contractions in the book. Then we became surgeons!! We very carefully used our surgical scissors to remove letters from words and then sutured them back together with our surgical glue and bandaged up our new words!
Now that Bunny Town has come to a close and we have helped the bunnies recycle and reuse their materials, we refocused ourselves into the importance of recycling in our world. Today we worked on answering some of these questions:
- What if no one recycled?
- What if no one cared about Earth?
- What would happen?
- Why should we value taking care of our planet?
We started out by observing some illustrations taken from the book, Just a Dream. We wrote in our journals about what we noticed about the pictures and what the world would be like if the things we saw were to really happen.
After talking about the importance of recycling, we had a long discussion about what happens to the things we recycle when they leave our house. We took time to really investigate some of the items that can be made from the things that we recycle.
