Where We AreWe have been practicing the skill of ordering words by alphabetizing them. First we watched a fun Spelling City video about how to do this the right way. We practiced all together with a fun smartboard activity and then ordered some words from our unit. Today we read the story, The Keeping Quilt. We loved hearing about the real life history of Patricia Polacco and learning about her family heirlooms and traditions. We connected with the story by sharing some of our own traditions with our shoulder partners. After the book, we practiced ABC Order one more time with some of the vocabulary from the story. We have had some great parent shares this week! The kids have really enjoyed listening about their personal histories and making connections. Thank you to those that volunteered to share! We reviewed the important people we talked about this past couple weeks today. We created a word web with their names. We all made connections between all of them and connected them to the two IB Learner Profile Traits we have been discussing, principled and reflective.
