Our Day Today!
We enjoyed some Spoooooky Halloween writing stations today! We had a great time, working with a partner to play "Halloween Roll A Sentence" and "Sketching Out a Spooky Sentence." We made some really funny sentences like, "The stinky mummy swallowed a pumpkin at Disneyland!" We also drew some fantastic spooky pictures to practice creating complete sentences!
By the end of the 2nd 9 weeks, the learners have to be able to count forward and backwards to and from 120. Today we started a new Module that will cover this skill and we practiced with a partner! We had a really good time quizzing each other and listening to each other count! There was definitely some collaboration going on as the learners worked together to help each other out with counting!
Today we finished Chapters 8 and 9 of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. We have met some new characters and Edward Tulane is now being called "Susanna." He is now owned by a fisherman (Lawrence) and his wife (Nellie). Edward's feelings are starting to change as he has discovered that he loves to listen to Nellie tell him stories. We all took some time to reflect about why Edward would be thinking that Nellie's stories were so important, when before, he would not listen to any people speak to him.
